MOVA Presents David Meier with Gerard D. Downing Leadership Award

On April 30, 2008, David Meier received the Gerard D. Downing Leadership Award which is conferred upon leaders in public or private agencies who have demonstrated unwavering commitment to advancing the rights of crime victims and is recognized as such by his/her colleagues for their efforts on behalf of victims/survivors.

The award was created in memory of Gerry Downing, who was a champion of victim rights and served for many years on the Victim and Witness Assistance Board, the Board that governs MOVA (Massachusetts Office of Victim/Witness Assistance).  The award was conferred at the Annual Statewide Victim Rights Conference held at the State House.
