Josh Launer and Rachel Hutchinson Participate in MCLE Mock Trial on Fiduciary Duty Litigation

Todd & Weld attorneys Josh Launer and Rachel Hutchinson recently participated in MCLE’s Mock Trial Seminar, which provided a comprehensive, hands-on exploration of litigating a breach of fiduciary duty case.

The interactive program guided participants through every stage of trial advocacy—from motions in limine and opening statements to witness examinations, closing arguments, and judicial commentary. Attendees experienced the full lifecycle of a civil trial, gaining valuable insights into the complexities of fiduciary litigation and courtroom strategy.

As program co-chair, Josh Launer helped lead the seminar alongside a District Court judge and other experienced litigators. Together with Rachel Hutchinson, the Todd & Weld team demonstrated best practices for presenting and defending fiduciary duty claims, including the nuances of case theory, witness preparation, and evidence presentation.

The seminar concluded with a unique opportunity for participants to serve as the jury and engage in a post-verdict Q&A with faculty members—allowing for an open discussion on trial strategy, preparation, and real-world considerations.

Todd & Weld is proud to support legal education programs that promote excellence in advocacy and enhance trial practice across the legal community.
