Todd & Weld Issues Guidance as Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act Takes Effect

With the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act now in effect, Todd & Weld is providing guidance and resources to help employers comply with the new law’s requirements.

The statute requires employers to include pay ranges in job postings, prohibits retaliation against employees who discuss compensation, and mandates that internal policies and hiring practices align with its transparency standards.

Partner Christopher O’Hara, who recently presented to a Legal Administrators group on key employment law developments, helps lead the firm’s initiative to educate and counsel clients on compliance strategies. His prior presentation outlined best practices for employers and urges firms to review their policies and procedures to ensure compliance under the current landscape of tension between state and federal law.

Drawing on deep experience in employment law and litigation, Mr. O’Hara and the firm’s Employment Law Group represent employers in employment discrimination claims, wage and hour cases, including Wage Act cases, noncompetition and trade secrets cases, as well as conduct workplace investigations and develop and implement employment policies and practices.

Employers seeking proactive compliance support are encouraged to contact Todd & Weld’s employment attorneys.
