Shayla Mombeleur to moderate DEI program hosted by Mass. Bar Association
Shayla Mombeleur is slated to moderate a program hosted by the Massachusetts Bar Association on fostering Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling earlier this year striking down affirmative action programs at colleges and universities.
The court’s decision in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard has led to various lawsuits challenging DEI programs at a variety of law firms around the country.
The program, taking place Jan. 11 at City Winery Boston, will address strategies for law firms to consider when supporting DEI initiatives and hiring practices, and how to respond to a lawsuit challenging a DEI program.
Ms. Mombeleur currently serves as Secretary of the MBA and is a member of the organization’s Executive Management Board.
In addition to the MBA, the Boston Bar Association and various affinity bar associations are co-sponsoring the event.
