Megan Deluhery quoted in Mass. Lawyers Weekly on win before SJC

Megan Deluhery's win for her client before the Supreme Judicial Court in a case involving legal malpractice was featured in a page one article in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.

Ms. Deluhery persuaded the court to overturn summary judgment for a law firm and grant summary judgment to her client which had sued for legal malpractice.

The SJC for the first time ruled that a judicial error of law does not bar recovery in a legal malpractice case where a defendant law firm was negligent for failing to prevent or mitigate the legal error.

"The SJC has made new law in holding that, yes, in fact, attorneys can be liable [for their negligence] even when there's contributing judicial error," Ms. Deluhery told the publication.

Ms. Deluhery, a partner at the firm, concentrates her practice on commercial litigation, including legal malpractice matters related to underlying business disputes.
