Jeff Catalano lauds Housing Court in latest President's View in Massachusetts Lawyers Journal

Jeffrey N. Catalano lauds the Massachusetts Housing Court in his President's View column in the March/April 2017 issue of the Massachusetts Lawyers Journal published by the Massachusetts Bar Association.

Mr. Catalano, who is the current MBA President, describes his recent visits to the Housing Court in Boston and Springfield, and his main takeaway is that everyone benefits from these courts.

Mr. Catalano writes that these specialty courts "provide tenants with a fair and efficient process, while also enabling landlords to maintain viable rental income. Through code enforcements and receiverships, they also revitalize properties and thereby increase tax revenues to municipalities."

He continues: "[M]y experience confirmed that the Housing Court should be expanded to the entire state.  Perhaps most importantly, the Housing Court is one realistic measure of addressing the affordable housing crisis in Massachusetts."

Mr. Catalano, a partner at the firm, concentrates his practice on representing victims of catastrophic injuries in medical negligence, food poisoning, product liability, auto accident, class action, and other personal injury cases.
