Ingrid Martin to present at panel discussion on continuing impact of Dobbs decision

Ingrid S. Martin is slated to present as part of a panel discussion on the continuing fallout from the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2022 decision ending federal constitutional protections for abortion.

The court in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health overturned longstanding constitutional safeguards for abortion first established in the court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.  Massachusetts continues to protect the right to abortion under state law, but other states have severely restricted those protections following the Dobbs decision.

The Oct. 19 panel webinar, hosted by the Boston Bar Association, will address the legal nuances for Massachusetts patients and medical providers, as well as the real-world impact of the Dobbs decision.

Ms. Martin co-chaired a Task Force that prepared a reproductive rights report approved by the BBA earlier this year that includes a Statement of Principles in response to the Dobbs decision.

A partner at the firm, Ms. Martin concentrates her practice on criminal defense and healthcare law.  She serves on the BBA’s Council as well as the BBA’s Executive Committee.
