Ian Pinta elected to partnership at Todd & Weld LLP
Ian J. Pinta was recently elected to the partnership at Todd & Weld LLP.
Mr. Pinta concentrates his practice on commercial business and general litigation matters, as well as medical malpractice and personal injury litigation. He regularly assists clients in trial and appellate courts, and before administrative agencies.
Mr. Pinta has obtained numerous successful results for his clients, including:
- Obtaining a $551,000 jury verdict on behalf of a company against its former CEO and CFO who breached his fiduciary duty
- Persuading the Massachusetts Appeals Court to uphold the confidentiality of mediation communications
- After an evidentiary hearing, persuading a Massachusetts Superior Court judge to dismiss a contempt action based on a finding that his lawyer and law firm clients did not violate a court order enjoining them from transferring funds except in the ordinary course of business
- Obtaining a summary judgment dismissing a claim for aiding and abetting alleged breaches of fiduciary duty and of a non-compete agreement
- Successfully defending sales representatives against claims of their former employer, allowing them to continue working for a competitor medical device distributor
- Securing a summary judgment dismissing various claims against a lawyer and his law firm for an alleged misrepresentation during mediation
Mr. Pinta has been named each year since 2013 to Massachusetts Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Business Litigation.
He obtained his law degree cum laude from Suffolk University Law School, and undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
