John J. Ronan

Overview

John J. Ronan concentrates his practice in all aspects of family law including divorce, custody, alimony, and prenuptial agreements.  Mr. Ronan, a partner at the firm and co-director of its family law practice, has successfully advised clients in several divorce matters involving complex financial issues.

A seasoned courtroom attorney, Mr. Ronan has tried and argued numerous cases and issues in the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court.

He has devoted his legal career to family law.  Prior to joining Todd & Weld, Mr. Ronan served as a law clerk for the justices of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts serving in Essex, Middlesex and Plymouth counties, as well as the administrative office for the chief justice of the Probate and Family Court.

Mr. Ronan has coauthored Chapter Five, Motion Practice of the Massachusetts Divorce Law Manual published by MCLE, and also coauthored an article for MCLE entitled “The Equities of Double Dipping in Massachusetts.”  He has lectured at MCLE on the topic of "Golden Year Divorces," as well as presented to new attorneys on divorce basics. 

His professional memberships include the Boston Bar Association, where he serves on the CLE Subcommittee for the Family Law Section, and the Greater Boston Family Law American Inn of Court.
