Jacob Y. Maddox

Overview

Jacob Maddox is a litigation attorney whose practice focuses on criminal defense and complex litigation matters. Mr. Maddox represents clients in state criminal proceedings and brings substantial courtroom and trial experience to his practice.

Prior to joining Todd & Weld LLP, Mr. Maddox served as a public defender with the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Boston’s Trial Unit, where he represented indigent clients from arraignment through disposition in a wide range of criminal matters. In that role, he conducted pretrial investigations, interviewed witnesses, prepared and argued motions, negotiated case resolutions, and tried criminal cases before judges and juries.

Before joining CPCS, Mr. Maddox worked as a law clerk at Demissie & Church, where he assisted in the defense of state and federal criminal matters. His work included drafting motions to suppress and dismiss, reviewing discovery materials, supporting trial strategy development, and assisting during criminal trials.

Mr. Maddox also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable David H. Hennessy of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, where he researched and drafted memoranda and recommendations involving federal habeas corpus petitions, employment disputes, negligence claims, and other civil matters.

Mr. Maddox earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.
