Gary Todd and Rich Novitch Serve as Faculty for MCLE New England Family Law Trial Advocacy Workshop
Gary Todd and Rich Novitch recently served as faculty members for MCLE New England’s Family Law Trial Advocacy Workshop, an intensive, hands-on training program designed to strengthen courtroom advocacy skills for family law practitioners.
Widely regarded as one of the premier trial advocacy programs for family law attorneys, the workshop provides participants with the opportunity to develop and refine litigation skills through simulated courtroom exercises, faculty demonstrations, and direct feedback from experienced judges and practitioners. Over the course of the multi-day program, attorneys perform as trial counsel in an ongoing divorce trial, handling all phases of litigation—from motion practice and evidentiary issues to expert witness examinations and closing arguments.
As faculty members, Mr. Todd and Mr. Novitch worked closely with participants throughout the workshop, demonstrating effective trial techniques, providing individualized feedback, and lecturing on key aspects of family law trial practice. Participants gained practical experience examining witnesses, introducing exhibits, working with financial, real estate, and psychological experts, and presenting cases before Probate and Family Court judges.
The workshop culminates in a full-scale divorce trial exercise, during which participants apply the advocacy skills developed throughout the week and receive comprehensive evaluations from members of the judiciary.
Mr. Todd and Mr. Novitch are both highly regarded family law litigators with extensive experience representing clients in complex divorce, custody, support, property division, and probate matters. Their continued involvement in legal education reflects Todd & Weld’s commitment to advancing excellence in trial advocacy and supporting the professional development of the legal community.
