The past year has seen a larger than usual number of multistate food poisoning outbreaks in the U.S.
In his latest Just Transparency post, Jeffrey N. Catalano notes that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report that 22 multistate foodborne illness outbreaks thus far in 2018, compared to eight such outbreaks in 2017, 14 in 2016, 11 in 2015, and 13 in 2014.
Mr. Catalano discusses possible reasons for the unusual number of outbreaks, and whether food poisoning is on the rise.
