Melinda Thompson Appears in Good Morning America Report on Aisling Brady McCarthy Case

Melinda Thompson appeared in a September 2, 2015, Good Morning America report on the dismissal of first-degree murder charges against Aisling Brady McCarthy.

Ms. Thompson obtained the extraordinary result for Ms. McCarthy by persuading the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to review their initial findings on the cause of the child's death, which review ultimately prompted the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office to dismiss the murder charges against Ms. McCarthy.

The Good Morning America story included courtroom coverage of Ms. Thompson and the case, as well as comments by Ms. Thompson at a recent news conference held at the offices of Todd & Weld LLP.

"[Ms. McCarthy] is absolutely thankful to the Medical Examiner's office for doing this re-review [of the medical evidence]," Ms. Thompson said.

Her efforts resulted in Ms. McCarthy being released on bail in May 2015, after spending 2½ years in jail awaiting trial, and ultimately in the charges being dismissed on August 31, 2015.
