Christopher R. O'Hara was quoted by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly in a page one article on a $2.5 million settlement of a sexual harassment and retaliation case filed by a former fitness director against a Nantucket yacht club.
The woman alleged the yacht club failed to adequately respond to her complaints of sexual harassment by club members, and then retaliated against her because of those complaints and her refusal to sign a release, according to the article published Nov. 16, 2015.
Mr. O'Hara, who was not involved in the case, told the publication that the settlement was "a staggeringly large number, particularly in light of [the yacht club's] initial discharge offer of two months' salary. To go from that to $2.5 million several years later is really a stratospheric change."
Mr. O'Hara is a partner at the firm, where he concentrates his practice on employment law and complex business litigation.
