The firm obtained a $190,000 settlement on behalf of its client, who was a paraplegic being transported to a doctor's appointment in the defendant's ambulance. While in transit to the appointment, the ambulance rear-ended another vehicle which had stopped for a pedestrian.
The ambulance driver had neglected to secure the plaintiff into his wheelchair so that the plaintiff was ejected from his wheelchair upon impact, suffering a right femur fracture. The defendant disputed the fracture's relation to the accident, but the plaintiff's expert concluded that the fracture and the plaintiff's long-term leg pain and additional limitations were related to the accident.
