Jeffrey N. Catalano was quoted in a front page Boston Globe article on the release of confidential data of employees in a contentious whistleblower suit involving the Town of Saugus.
The data – including names, Social Security numbers, and bank account details – was released as part of discovery in the case.
According to the June 6, 2016 article, the town is not planning on notifying the employees about the release of private information.
Mr. Catalano said both sides in the litigation are obliged to respect employees' privacy.
"It's important not to downplay it," Catalano told the publication. "The prudent thing is to notify them."
