Jeffrey N. Catalano has been named president of the Massachusetts Bar Association for the 2016-17 year beginning Sept. 1, becoming the 85th president of the organization.
During his presidency, Mr. Catalano plans to promote leadership and pro bono opportunities, as well as civility and professionalism.
"Our primary focus will be to develop future legal leaders through the MBA who have the passion and ability to address the problems in our society with accountability and compassion in a collaborative manner," said Mr. Catalano, a partner at Todd & Weld LLP. "When people hear about all the great things we are doing, we want them thinking, 'I want in!'"
Mr. Catalano is a leader in other professional organizations as well, including: Member of the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys; MBA representative on the Massachusetts Alliance for Communication and Resolution Following Medical Injury (MACRMI); and member of the Board of Advisors of the National Patient Safety Foundation.
Mr. Catalano concentrates his practice on representing individuals and families in medical malpractice and personal injury litigation.
His peers have recognized his accomplishments as a trial attorney, as exemplified by his selection to Best Lawyers in America (2015-2017) for personal injury and product liability litigation, and to Super Lawyers (2009-2015).
Mr. Catalano is a 1994 graduate of Boston College Law School. He lives in West Roxbury, Mass., with his wife and two children.
