Richard M. Novitch has returned to Todd & Weld as of counsel in the firm's Divorce and Family Law practice group, and will continue to focus his practice on all aspects of domestic relations law, including complex property division and support issues, as well as appeals.
Mr. Novitch rejoins the firm following his tenure as partner at Lander & Lander, P.C. He previously worked at Todd & Weld as an associate, and prior to that was a former staff attorney for the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
"We are delighted that Rich has rejoined us at Todd & Weld. He is an excellent lawyer with significant experience in those complex areas our practice involves," said Elaine M. Epstein, partner and co-director of the firm's Divorce and Family Law practice group. "His practice blends well with what we do, as well as our approach to cases and client services."
A veteran litigator, Mr. Novitch has tried numerous cases in Probate and Family Courts in Massachusetts, and has been involved in a number of appeals.
He is a member of the American Probate & Family Inns of Court (Massachusetts chapter), and is a former hearing officer for the Board of Bar Overseers. He helped draft legislation to simplify post-judgment proceedings seeking to modify custody and child support.
Mr. Novitch obtained his law degree (magna cum laude) from Suffolk University Law School in 1997, and his undergraduate degree from Clark University in 1994.
