Mr. Meier brings the perspective of two decades of professional experience as a prosecutor to his trial work on behalf of individuals and companies. Prior to joining Todd & Weld LLP, Mr. Meier served for 12 years as the Chief of Homicide in the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, supervising the investigation, prosecution, and trial of all homicides occurring within the City of Boston. As a prosecutor, he was involved in the post-conviction review and investigation of numerous cases leading to the release of defendants wrongfully convicted of murder and other criminal charges. Upon leaving the District Attorney's Office, a Boston Globe columnist noted that cases handled by Mr. Meier as a homicide prosecutor "exemplify his devotion to truth over expedience."
In 2007, Mr. Meier was recognized by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly as a "Lawyer of the Year," an award granted for "integrity, professionalism, and determination." He was cited for "working behind the scenes to seek justice for victims and their families, as well as those who had been wrongfully convicted."
