Twenty-two people from Todd & Weld, consisting of partners, associates, paralegals and support staff participated from September 2004 to June 2005 in a writing program for 12 eighth-grade students from the City of Boston Schools. In creating the program four years ago, Citizen Schools embarked on a unique project to bring some of Boston's most respected lawyers together with students from the city's urban middle schools. The lawyers served as individual writing coaches and mentors to apprentices with a dual goal of improving writing skills and preparing the students for high school. The work product from the year's program was published in a nationally distributed magazine entitled “Bridging: Bridging to High School, College and Beyond.” To learn more about Citizen Schools, visit www.citizenschools.org
