Christopher R. O'Hara of Todd & Weld on Panel at National Contract Managers' Association Conference

Christopher R. O'Hara, a partner at Todd & Weld LLP and an experienced employment law attorney, was a panelist at the seminar on "Employment Background Screening: What You Need to Know to Reduce Risk and Increase Return" at the 52nd Annual National Contract Managers' Association Conference held at Bentley College on March 13, 2013.

The seminar discussed the legal risks and developing regulation of employment background screening, including, among other things, (i) the EEOC's Enforcement Guidance on the Consideration of Arrest and Conviction Records in Employment Decisions Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. § 2000, et seq.” (dated April 25, 2012) [see reference], (ii) the U.S. Dept. of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Directive 306: "Complying with Nondiscrimination Provisions: Criminal Record Restrictions and Discrimination Based on Race and National Origin" (dated January 29, 2013) [see reference], and (iii) Massachusetts' Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) reform laws [see reference].
