Lawyers Weekly featured Christopher R. O' Hara for his successful defense of Centennial Technologies, Inc. against a $600,000 demand.
The claim was brought by a former independent manufacturer's sales representative who alleged that he was owed substantial commissions from an approximately $16 million dollar order obtained by the Company shortly after his departure. The plaintiff claimed that under the Fortune case and its progeny that the salesman had done all that was necessary to earn his commission even though the order came in after he was no longer in the Company's sales force. The jury was presented with substantial evidence that the sales representative was not responsible for procuring the order and that he had no reasonable basis to believe that a commission was, in fact, owed.
After a two week jury trial in the Middlesex Superior Court, Christopher R. O'Hara obtained a defense verdict on all counts.
