Christopher R. O'Hara and Nicholas B. Carter successfully obtained a defense verdict in a legal malpractice case against a Boston partner of an international law firm.
The complaint alleged that the defendant failed to file Uniform Commercial Code papers necessary to continue the perfected status of an existing security interest to receive payments from a business transaction. After a three week jury trial in Suffolk Superior Court, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the Defendant and the law firm. The trial judge denied the plaintiff's motion for new trial and judgment notwithstanding the verdict.
