Judge Margot Botsford awarded attorneys' fees and costs to Todd & Weld LLP for representation of Ourway Realty in their successful Chapter 93A counterclaim in a bitter legal dispute over ownership of the Plainridge harness racing track.
Representing the owner of a harness racing track in Plainville, Todd & Weld lawyers J. Owen Todd and David H. Rich were off to the races in successfully defending their client in a bitterly fought lawsuit brought by a former partner of the track owners, then successfully suing the former partner for his unfair and deceptive practices. A Superior Court judge awarded our client $661,000 in attorneys' fees. David Rich noted that in making the award, Judge Botsford commented that Todd & Weld's hourly fees were “substantially lower” than the going rates.
