David Meier and Melinda Thompson of Todd & Weld Win Acquittal for Tennis Coach
As reported in The Boston Globe and the Patriot Ledger, attorneys from Todd & Weld won an acquittal for a South Shore tennis coach charged with allegedly raping a teenage girl. David Meier, a partner with Todd & Weld, and Melinda Thompson, an associate with the firm, represented the defendant in a two-week trial in Norfolk Superior Court. On June 22, the jury returned Not Guilty verdicts after only 90 minutes of deliberation.
Ms. Thompson stated, "The jury made the right call, and we're thankful for that. We maintained and still maintain that this simply never happened. [Our client] didn't do this, and we're glad the jury was able to see that."
