Media Law Litigation

The Firm has represented numerous companies and individuals, including Judges, in connection with media related matters.  In 2005, Todd & Weld represented the Honorable Ernest B. Murphy in his lawsuit for libel against the Boston Herald.  After a month long trial, Judge Murphy was awarded $ 2.1 million by a Boston jury.  We also represent companies claiming unlawful disparagement of their services and practices. For example, we currently are representing a family suing an author and publisher for falsely portraying them in a book and a soon to be released major motion picture.
