David Meier to Lead Educational Symposium on Wrongful Convictions
In November 2008, David Meier will co-chair a two-day educational symposium on “Wrongful Convictions: Preventing and Litigating” at Suffolk Law School.
The symposium, sponsored by the Center for Advanced Legal Studies and the Flaschner Judicial Institute, seeks to educate attorneys, judges, and law enforcement officers about the vulnerabilities in the criminal justice system that make the criminal conviction of wholly innocent persons possible. State and federal court judges and leading practitioners in the field of criminal law, both defense attorneys and prosecutors, will explore ways of improving the criminal justice system in order to prevent the grievous injustice of wrongful convictions.
